Halo to all.
Yeah. Too long have I waited to get back. By the time I was over with that 2-year mandatory army service I had to grind through, I was thinking of getting back to my blog to update some details worth remembering. Think of it as a diary I memo-ed on my Samsung Galaxy S5 when I was attached overseas in Brunei as a combat coverage medic throughout the month of April this year.
Well, better input all the details in. This blog of mine needs an update after all:
-------
DIARY LOG
Day 1 (3/4)
To a galaxy unseen, and unexplored: Andromeda! Actually, just Brunei. From Grade A down to Grade B. Could this be an experience worth venturing?
Day 2 (4/4)
Place reminds me of my original homeland, except that it looks more flourishing, and successful. Also, ironic that the capital lacks skyscrapers. Lots of swerving through the river streams around the dense monsoon forest whilst on the way to the camp site. Amazon much?
Day 3 (5/4)
Settling in the literally inclined camp. Weather is clearly hotter or wetter. And once again, heavy downpour just like yesterday at the same time. Is this because of some curse?
Day 4 (6/4)
First medical cover inbound this afternoon. Boats and river currents (And crocodiles) involved. Oh, this time around, lightning and thunder has reinforced the rain. "Thunder Buddies" anyone?
Day 5 (7/4)
Every morning, mist clouds the forests, like as if there are ships sailing on the sky. By video game perspective, I tend to see such a forested background as one exotic place to visit in a Halo ringworld. Off-topic wise, can someone provide me insight on the upcoming NBA Playoffs?
Day 6 (8/4)
Another cover inbound, and this time I have to take slopes up a small hill behind camp. Tiring it may be, at least the view from above was great. Fancy sketching from there eh?
Day 7 (9/4)
Sabbath. Peaceful. Rain. Sleep. Fantasize?
Day 8 (10/4)
More mist. More sleep. More fantasizing?
Day 9 (11/4)
Call this day a favourable but also unfavourable trip. Favourably, for the first time, got to fly into the sky via a Heli. View from above was majestically spectacular. Kinda like riding a Pelican from Halo, video-game metaphorically speaking. Unfavourably, in order to provide this particular 3-day medical cover, my boots have to trot through the muddy soil trail, leaving them brown with disgust, like them Flood from Halo. Once I get back home, Halo anyone?
Day 10 (12/4)
2nd day into this cover. Live firing throughout the whole daylight. And I wonder, how many covers do I have left before I get back home?
Day 11 (13/4)
Final day into this cover. Area filled with sand flies as usual. On the bright side, gonna heli back into camp. Still, why am I thinking around home these past few days?
Day 12 (14/4)
More than halfway through this overseas period. How about cooling myself down, yeah?
Day 13 (15/4)
Here we go. The initial stages of the main event have begun. And suddenly it got halted till tomorrow. Not the first time I faced such a hiccup. Scratch what I said just now. I was just informed that it will be pushed to a later timing today. Make up your mind, whoever is behind this fluctuation of changes. Maybe rubbing soap on their mouths should be a solution to this commonly practiced etiquette?
Day 14 (16/4)
Another sabbath, another day to rest. Fantasize as usual?
Day 15 (17/4)
Not again. Cover is pushed to a later timing. Rubbing soap on their mouths might be ineffective after all. Maybe pouring acid will do the job. On a side note, since when did I upgrade myself from medic to medic-signaller?
Day 16 (18/4)
Breakfast reminded me of McDonalds. Wish I were home sooner. And damn, muddy boots again. Nevermind. I'm just days away from getting home. Think positive. Can't get past home, can I?
Day 17 (19/4)
On to my final cover of this overseas attachment. 2 days. Between a road and a hill. Open scorching hot area filled with wet soil and fallen tree barks. Damn weather is making me crave for vanilla ice cream with chocolate coating. At least I get to catch some action sequences just like them mainstream shooter games. Suddenly, I'm greeted by the alliance of rain, thunder, and wind. In the end, a rainbow glows over the evening dew. Fascinating, isn't it?
Day 18 (20/4)
One last time. Let's do this. Hopefully I don't get bothered for anything else. Can I get a salary bonus for covering outfield overseas?
Day 19 (21/4)
Time to pack up. Scheduled to leave camp soon. Appreciate that dinner feast. This is something Vikings would fully chow down to. I wonder. Leave by tomorrow or Sunday?
Day 20 (22/4)
Sigh. I'm not leaving camp till Sunday. What shall I do now? Read? Watch? Sleep? Fantasize?
Day 21 (23/4)
3 weeks have passed, and I am finally making my way back to the capital. I can't jot down all of what I've seen, but I can salvage and store every pic and vid taken. Better input all these diary data into my blog somehow. Would like to read it again one day. All things accounted for. Let's head on to the airport. Home, you ready?
Day 22 (24/4)
I'm home.

There you have it. My overseas attachment experience collated as I have promised myself. Tune in to future blogs, cause I'm officially back in business. For now, I gotta get back to dreaming and romancing and banging? Till then, see you starside.
